Omeprazole 20mg Capsules

Proton pump inhibitor for treating heartburn, acid reflux, and gastric ulcers.

Adults: 1 capsule once daily, swallowed whole with water before a meal (preferably morning). For GERD: 20mg daily for 4-8 weeks. For maintenance: 10-20mg daily. For H. pylori eradication: 20mg twice daily with antibiotics for 7 days.

Active: Omeprazole 20mg per capsule (as enteric-coated pellets). Inactive: Sugar spheres, hypromellose, hydroxypropylcellulose, sodium lauryl sulfate, methacrylic acid copolymer, triethyl citrate, titanium dioxide, gelatin capsule shell.

Do not crush or chew capsules (enteric coating protects from stomach acid). Long-term use (over 1 year) may increase risk of bone fractures and magnesium deficiency. Consult a doctor if you experience unexplained weight loss, persistent vomiting, or difficulty swallowing. May interact with clopidogrel, methotrexate, and certain HIV medications.
