Flagyl (Metronidazole 400mg)

Antibiotic and antiprotozoal medication for treating anaerobic infections, amoebiasis, and giardiasis.

Adults: 400mg 3 times daily for 7 days for most infections. For amoebiasis: 800mg 3 times daily for 5-10 days. Take with or after food. Indicated for anaerobic bacterial infections, trichomoniasis, amoebiasis, giardiasis, bacterial vaginosis, and dental infections.

Active: Metronidazole 400mg per tablet. Inactive: Maize starch, povidone, magnesium stearate, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, calcium hydrogen phosphate.

Prescription required. Absolutely avoid alcohol during treatment and for 48 hours after completing the course (severe nausea and vomiting may result). May cause metallic taste, nausea, and darkened urine. Not recommended in the first trimester of pregnancy. Use with caution in severe liver disease. May interfere with certain blood-thinning medications.
