Combination antibiotic effective against resistant bacteria causing skin, respiratory, and urinary infections.
Adults: 1 tablet every 12 hours with food. Duration depends on infection severity, typically 5-14 days. Indicated for sinusitis, otitis media, lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and bone/joint infections.
Active: Amoxicillin 500mg and Clavulanic Acid 125mg per tablet. Inactive: Colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, sodium starch glycolate, microcrystalline cellulose. Film coat: hypromellose, ethylcellulose, titanium dioxide.
Prescription required. Contraindicated in penicillin allergy and history of Augmentin-associated jaundice. Take with food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. May cause diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, and candidiasis. Monitor liver function during prolonged therapy. Not recommended during pregnancy unless clearly needed.
